Four enzymes do the targeted work, and they are the specialists of the formula. Protease breaks down protein stains such as grass and sweat. Amylase handles starches from sauces, pasta and similar foods, which matters doubly because starch can act as an adhesive holding other soil in place. Mannanase targets mannan gums used as thickeners in foods and cosmetics, notorious for clinging invisibly and attracting fresh dirt back to the same spot.
Nuclease is the fourth, and it is a newer enzyme that many detergents still do not include. It targets nucleic acids found in body soils and biofilms, dissolving the microscopic residue that holds sweat, skin oils and microbial grime onto fabric. That helps with body odour, with the dingy yellow buildup that collects on collars and underarms, and with cold water cleaning, since it works chemically rather than needing heat.

Sodium percarbonate is the oxygen source. It releases oxygen when it meets water, and that oxygen works on the chemical bonds that make stains visible, so a stain stops showing rather than needing to be scrubbed out. TAED helps that reaction stay active at lower temperatures, which suits cold cycles.
Sodium carbonate raises the alkalinity of the wash water so soils loosen more readily, and it contributes to softening water. Sodium borate and sodium citrate boosts cleaning, particularly in hard water where dissolved calcium and magnesium would otherwise tie up the surfactants before they reach your clothes.
Notice what is absent from that list. No synthetic dyes, which colour a product rather than clean it. No added fragrance, including masking scents. No optical brighteners, which coat fabric to appear brighter under light without removing anything.
Those three are the most common additions that contribute nothing to cleaning, and leaving them out is why this list stays short enough to read in one sitting.
Concentration means a small dose. Half a tablespoon for a standard load and one tablespoon for heavily soiled or extra-large loads.
Add the powder to the drum, then your laundry, then run the cycle your care labels specify. It works in standard and HE machines, suits cold water because the enzymes work chemically rather than by heat, and the minerals handle hard water. Not for silk or wool.
Overdosing does not improve the result. It simply leaves behind more than the rinse can remove, which works against the enzymes rather than helping them.
