The CocoClean Detergent Declaration

Every brand has a mission statement buried in a slide deck somewhere. Ours could fit  on the side of a box.

The Detergent Declaration is five short lines that cover what's in our detergent, what isn't, and why we made those choices. No fine print, no asterisks leading somewhere unpleasant. Here's each line, and what's actually behind it.

Fragrance Free

No perfume oils. No masking scents. Nothing added to make your laundry smell like a scent someone designed in a lab.

Clean fabric doesn't smell like anything, which is the part most people find surprising. That "fresh" smell you know from the laundry aisle is added fragrance doing marketing work, not cleaning work. Your towels come out smelling like towels, and it grows on you fast.

Ultra Concentrated (1/2 Tbsp)

Half a tablespoon handles a regular load. Really.

There's only a minuscule amount of water in the box, so nearly every bit of what you're measuring is working formula rather than something you already have coming out of your tap.

One small 2-pack covers 80 loads, which means less weight to ship, less space in your cupboard, and a box that outlasts your expectations. Trust the tiny amount.

Let's Break Up With Plastics

No jug, no pods, no film, and no plastic measure tucked inside the box.

Most powders include a plastic measure. We deliberately left it out, because a paper carton stops being plastic-free the moment you drop a plastic spoon in it. Use a tablespoon you already own, and the recyclable paper carton stays the entire package, front to back.

Clothes Are Our Second Skin

You wear your clothes against your skin all day, then sleep in sheets all night.

That simple observation is why our founder John W Roulac started asking what was actually in detergent, and why the ingredient list stayed short. Four enzymes, three surfactants including one derived from coconut, oxygen bleach, and minerals for hard water. Everything named, nothing you'd need a chemistry degree to pronounce.

Coconut Cleans

Coconut isn't a garnish here, it's a working ingredient.

One of our three surfactants is derived from coconut, doing the actual job of lifting oil and dirt off fabric. It's also our tropical fan favorite and the reason there's a coconut in sunglasses on our packaging. Pairs beautifully with oxygen and enzymes for a wash that cleans like a dream.  

Powder Is Back

Powder was the original format, and it never stopped working.

Liquid arrived with brighter jugs and better ad budgets, and the shelves followed the money. But powder needs no plastic bottle, no preservatives, and no dissolvable film to do its job. It just waited patiently for everyone to circle back around.
